Well, we have been in our new home for a few weeks now and it is working out really well. We have a lot more room and can have a lot more tables active, so there are quite a lot of beers being sank as well, LOL. We now have WHFB action most weeks now thanks to Jac who is one of several new members.
We have a great spread of systems going on including, X-Wing, Attack Wing, Blood Bowl, Fantasy, 40K, Flames of War, Bolt Action and H&WM. So things are looking good for the Warriors, why not come along and check us out, have a game and get to know us, we’ll make you welcome and you might even get the Warrior bug.
I will post up some pictures of the new place soon, especially the bar just to tempt you!
Well, some exciting news for the Warriors. We have grown a lot recently and decided to find a new venue with more room for more games and where we could possible hold some weekend or one day tournaments. We have succeeded and from Wednesday 12th February 2014 we will be meeting at “Frenchwood Social Club” in the function room.
We will have about three times the space, maybe more to play with, and there will be a bar in the room that links through to the main club lounge, so hard, medium and soft drinks will be available. Meeting times will be Wed from 7.00PM through to closing at about 11.30PM if we want to play late or sit and chat etc.
So if you are not already a Warrior and enjoy Wargaming in a friendly social atmophere with like minded people, please make your way down and pay us a visit, have a chat or game. You might like us enough to become a regular visitor and member.
Game systems we want to play and promote will include; WH40K, Flames of War, Bolt Action, Blood Bowl, Hordes & Warmachine, X-Wing and WH Fantasy Battles. We are of course open to other ideas if the interest is there so come and chat about it, whatever it may be.
Hope to see all our regulars and some new faces soon.
Well, here we are at the start of a new year with a new resolution to make regular posts this year (2014). It may be January but thoughts are already turning to this years RIBBLE RUMBLE.
This year the event will be on the 2+3 August and will again be at the Atrium, UCLAN; we will have several systems available again, including Warhammer 40K, Bolt Action, Blood Bowl and others such as WHFB, FOW and H&WM if there is enough support out there.
Scenery production to increase the number of 40K tables we can dress is also starting to take shape, so even more awesomeness will be up for use this year.
Late last year we held the first “Warrior Abroad” tourney at the NW Gaming Centre; it was a Highlander Event and went very well for a first go. So much so that Rob is organising the next episode already. This will be held at Sanctuary Gaming Mansfield with more details “here”, http://warhammer.org.uk/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=120356
Now back to more NURGLE MAKING, trying to finish a couple of new units for the Caledonian in about ten days time, will try to pop up some pics when I get them finished.
AND A Happy New Year to all Wargamers.
Back soon !
Hello peeps, it has been some time since my last missive but real life and lazyness have consumed me for a spell.
But that is behind me now, at least the laziness bit is LOL.
Believe it or not we are now into the throes of organising the RIBBLE RUMBLE 2013, boy don’t time fly when you’re getting on in life, (Don’t you dare!)
Anyways, I am in the middle of revamping my 40K NURGLE army for this season’s gaming, and I am quite pleased with how it is coming along. Just hope it pleases the eye of some folks on the tourney circuit, I know I enjoy it and it is fun to play with as well.
We are getting some more terrain done as a club, ready for the Rumble we hope. This year we are a bit earlier and the tournament will be on 27-28th July, same venue and same great time, just hope the weather is great too.
This year we are running with Warhammer 40K, Flames of War, Malifaux, Blood Bowl and Hordes & War Machine. There will also be additional painting and conversion comps to enter seperate from the gaming.
Well, back to the army and terrain works and will catch up again sooner than recently, LOL.
Well peeps, it’s been a while since my last update and I must apologise, BUT real life and work just get in the way sometimes. Still it’s good to be back and bring things on the Rumble front up to date.
We, the terrain team at Ribble Warriors managed to get a load of new terrain finished in time for the Rumble weekend of 4th-5th August and we were really pleased with our efforts when we got everything set up for th games. The themed tables we put together looked top class, as good as any tournament around and better than most, even if I say so myself.
Here are some pics to prove it LOL.
The weekend went very smoothly and everyone seemed to have a good time which is the most important thing for us as a club, thanks for all those who came along and those who helped out over the weekend, much appreciated.
Some pics of the event for you.
Well I’ve just done a new gaming board for home, textured and done the first coat of paint. So I thought I’d get some terrain out on it and see how it looks. This will be one of the tables for rumble, as we are labelling the terrain up into sets, numbering them, categorizing and various other boring parts I wont go into now. So here are some pics of one of the 4 tables of jungle themed terrain we have made.
By the way, this is what 25% terrain coverage should look like, many tournament goers might not be used to this!
It has been a while but we have all been busy building and painting lots of terrain for the Rumble.
Today we have announced that we are going for 6TH EDITION for 40K due to the rulebook coming out earlier than we thought. So it is jump in the deep end time for everyone and another steep learning curve for us oldies.
Anyways, I will have some new terrain pics to post up soon to make you drool and join in at the RUMBLE 2012.
